RNR is one of the largest private transfer companies in Ontario. We have been in business since 2003 and our base of operations is located in the Orillia area, being an integral part of the community for over 8 years. During this time RNR has had the honor of servicing all of Central Ontario’s hospitals, nursing homes and its residences.

In 2003, RNR began it services with the use of two Ambulance Units. Within one year RNR had grown to 9 units. Today RNR currently runs over 20 fully equipped transfer vehicles in service 24-7, 365 days a year as well as a fleet of administration vehicles to ensure that RNR can, and always will, meet the needs of its clients.

RNR Patient Transfer Services represents the largest provider of non-urgent medical transportation in Central Ontario, servicing all of Northern Ontario from Sudbury through to the GTA, to the nation’s capital of Ottawa.

The Attendant Position

To start with, this is not just a driving job. It is a job that involves patient care, medical issues, and deals with people who are both emotionally and physically ill. We transfer people who are 1 day to 100 years old, and who come from all walks of life and different circumstances.

1.   The position's wage starts at $11.00/hr. After three months and upon completion of probation, your salary automatically raises to $12.00/hr. At six months, we offer benefits to all full time staff and raises are then based on years of service and performance.

2.   All employees are required to have their own, reliable transportation for getting to work.

3.   Hours are based on call volume and we do not guarantee hours because of this.

4.   Your start time and shift end time is also dictated by call volume. You don't know what time you start until the day before and you do not know when you finish until that day. You could work a 5 hr day or a 12 hr day depending, again, on calls, wait time, traffic, etc. What is certain are your days off. We work with each employee to put together a schedule one month in advanced.

5.   If seeking a part time position, we require our part time staff to commit to  10 shifts per one month period, four of these days must be Saturday, Sunday availability. This availability must be given to the office one month in advance. Once the schedule is released, availability cannot and must not be withdrawn.

6.   You are required to purchase your uniform, for which we take payroll deduction in small increments. RNR does not allow any other type of clothing to be worn while on shift or in the public eye. We do have winter attire that can be purchased.

7.   You will be required to obtain or provide proof of current First Aid/CPR-HCP Level certification.  The cost of this certification is the responsibility of the employee and must be provided within the probationary period and before attending the EFR course.

8.   You will be required to obtain your EFR (Emergency First Responder). The cost for this course is $350.00.  RNR can coordinate this course by putting you in touch with an instructor and it is left up to you to obtain this course. You are exempt from this course if you have proof of a superior or equivalent course. This certification must be completed by the end of your probationary period.

9.   You are required to provide us with a current driver’s abstract.

10. You are required to provide a CLEAR criminal check that includes the vulnerable sector i.e. Children and seniors.

11. You are required to provide an up-to-date certificate of vaccination.

12. You must be able to complete a lift test consisting of 250 lbs. This is shared with a partner

13. You must be able to complete a practical and written driver's test.

14. You must be able to complete a WHMIS test

15. You must be able to complete Dangerous goods training and test.

18. You must have a Full G Driver's license at time of orientation.

19. RNR is insured for its fleet. However if there is an accident  and you are deemed at fault or you receive any type of traffic violations i.e. speeding tickets etc., you will be held responsible for any costs that might be incurred.
